The purpose of this portfolio is to explore the recent and historical abuses of campaign financing in the political system. In order to clearly demonstrate the past failures of regulation, I have first made a timeline of campaign finance reform. Next, I outline the current environment of campaign finance. Finally, I summarize some of the many proposed solutions that could possibly reduce some of the problems campaign financing has on the U.S. political system, along with my opinion on the feasibility of these reforms.
